CaSE has published its November e-bulletin, giving a summary of all CaSE’s activities over the last month. These include:
- CaSE and Nesta have launched our new campaign this week, 4Growth, which calls on the Government to reinvest the proceeds from the forthcoming 4G spectrum auction. Please sign our petition, joining leading figures such as Prof Brian Cox, Lord Martin Rees, Lord William Waldegrave, Andre Geim, and Ben Goldacre – and do circulate the details to your colleagues and friends, so that MPs are forced to debate our calls.
- CaSE Annual Lecture 2012 – Lord Heseltine will be speaking on Industrial Strategy Tuesday 27th November, the Science Museum, 7pm. The CaSE AGM will be held immediately before the lecture at 6pm and will discuss CaSE’s activities, finances, and Board nominations.
- An open letter, signed by over 40 European Nobel laureates, was published last week, warning against proposed cuts to the future EU research budget. The letter has been joined by the launch of an online petition.
- A new investigation by CaSE has found that Whitehall departments have cut their research and development (R&D) budgets disproportionately – despite suggestions that such spending would be protected.
